New product: Yeast cell walls
The nutritional properties are mainly due to the high content of β-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS). In this case, β-glucans are able to strengthen the immune system in a non-specific way by stimulating the proliferation of macrophages and neutrophils. These white blood cells, in turn, can defuse bacteria, viruses and other pathogens. The mannan components of the cell wall are characterized by being able to bind to the fimbriae of the bacterial cell. As a result, this pathogen can no longer attach itself to the intestinal wall and leaves the digestive system bound to the MOS.
